A flock of 5 birds was observed by Pavlo Panchenko near the village of Koshary on May 3. On May 2, Dmytro Milyutin photographed another flock of 16 birds near the village of Kayiry.

The second reliable observation for the Odessa region and the Northwest Black Sea region. The bird was discovered by Polish animation photographers Józef Szołtun, Krzysztof Merski (aka Josef Sas), Paweł Makarewicz and Witold Lisicki in the lower lane of Tylihulskyi lyman.
